What's Monitored?

We continuously run performance metrics to a range of locations across North America. If you'd like to suggest changes or additions, head over to the HELP tab above and submit the request to us. We will review all requests and determine if they are suitable for our monitoring system

Extra Info

We intentionally measure performance to targets that we don't control (i.e. we are testing to real-world sites and services that we don't own or operate). This ensures that all data accurately reflects all clients' real-world experiences

Host Info

With streaming services we typically interconnect with the provider at a central location (such as Teraco Data Centre Environments) and they provide the content from within their network. With YouTube we have noticed that while a LOT of content is hosted locally there is simply too much content for them to keep complete replicas at all of their geographic interconnect points so some content is served from international sources unlike for example, Netflix or Showmax. Servers: various streaming interconnect points are continuously measured for performance metrics and are subject to change should a host become unresponsive for a certain period of time or should we have to redirect traffic due to a dead interconnect partner (i.e. if they are experiencing trouble).
